Public Experiments
Steve Kurtz, Professor and Chair of the Department of Visual Studies, University of Buffalo,

Steve Kurtz is a founding member of Critical Art Ensemble (CAE), an award-winning collective focused on exploring the intersections between art, critical theory, technology, and political activism. The collective has performed and produced a wide variety of projects for international audiences at diverse venues ranging from the street, to the museum, to the Internet.
In his talk, Kurtz will discuss the collective's use of scientific and sociological experimental methods to promote social change and create new cultural possibilities. Also, he will discuss how the meaning of experimentation has recently expanded in the arts.

This event is free and open to the public.
