HSS Classroom Collaborative
In the next meeting of the HSS classroom collaborative, we will discuss incorporating peer review of writing into our teaching. At its best, peer review promotes learning of key writing and academic discourse skills and is enjoyed by most students; at its worst, it can feel like a waste of valuable classroom time. Susanne Hall will begin the conversation by sharing ideas and resources on this topic, including guidance from Hixon Writing Center peer tutors about what Caltech students think about this type of learning. The remainder of the time will be devoted to open conversation among participants. We can share strategies for success and pose questions for support.
