Zwei Leben – Two Lives (2013)

In German and Norwegian with English subtitles – Germany's finalist for best foreign movie

A "spy thriller": During WW II, Katrine, child of a Norwegian woman and a German soldier was taken to Germany. There was a Nazi policy of repatriating "racially desirable" babies from Norway into the German population. First, though, the baby was taken to a special orphanage in Saxony—one meant to breed super Aryan – the "Lebensborn" project. When Eastern Germany became the GDR, the records for many of the children were lost. Or maybe intentionally buried?  What is slowly teased out is how Katrine's miraculous return to her family in Norway in 1969 is tied, in some way, to the East German Stasi.
