A screening and discussion of Rabbit a la Berlin, a brilliant and offbeat, Oscar-nominated 45-minute documentary, will be hosted by its director, Bartek Konopka, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, in Hameetman Auditorium, Cahill. The film provides a fascinating interspecies history lesson told through the eyes of the thousands of wild rabbits who lived in the Death Zone between the Berlin Walls for almost half a century. The treatment of the rabbits by authorities on both sides of the wall becomes a kind of metaphor for the progress of the Cold War. The program, part of Professor Robert Rosenstone s History on Film course, is open to the Caltech Community and the general public.
