Exploring Mars with Curiosity: Mapping, Trekking, Discovery
John P. Grotzinger, Fletcher Jones Professor of Geology, Caltech,
John P. Grotzinger is Fletcher Jones Professor of Geology in the Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences at Caltech. He is project scientist for the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) on the Curiosity rover and team scientist for the Mars Exploration Rovers and for the HiRise camera in the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. The Curiosity rover studies sedimentary rocks as part of its mission to determine the inhabitability of Mars. Professor Grotzinger's talk is part of Exploration: The Globe and Beyond, a William Bennett Munro Memorial Lecture Series by the Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences.
