Spike Lee s Do the Right Thing (1989) tells the story of a multiethnic neighborhood in Brooklyn on one of the hottest days of summer. Racial tensions and frustrations mount throughout the film and finally culminate in a scene of violence that continues to provoke debate among critics. Professor Robert Rosenstone, host of the series, will lead a post-film discussion and a question-and-answer session with Roger Guenveur Smith, who plays one of the characters in the film.
