"At the Intersection of Art and Science" - A Conversation with Joyce Carol Oates and Charlie Gross

People tend to think of scientists as cold and logical and artists as eccentric and temperamental. What could draw these types together? Join us for an evening with Joyce Carol Oates and Charles Gross in free-form conversation about science, art, writing, the brain, consciousness, and love.
Oates has been hailed as "one of the most significant and enduring writers of the twentieth century." She is a winner of the National Book Award; the author of dozens of novels, short stories, and many other publications; and the Roger S. Berlind '52 Professor of the Humanities and Professor of Creative Writing at Princeton University.
A pioneering neuroscientist, Gross has made seminal contributions to our understanding of visual perception and brain development. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, author of multiple books on the history of science, and Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the Princeton Neuroscience Institute.
Gross and Oates married in 2009.
The event will be moderated by Roger Bingham, an Emmy Award–winning producer, science educator, author and television host.
