Profile
Axel Niemeyer works on mechanism design theory. His research aims to identify mechanisms—such as rules for allocating resources or for making collective decisions—that lead to desirable outcomes even when the participating individuals, who have their own set of goals and information, behave strategically. His current research focus is on optimal mechanism design in settings with non-transferable utility, multidimensional types, and correlated information, as well as on robust implementation with interdependent values. Niemeyer received his PhD in Economics from the University of Bonn in 2023.
