Prakash Mishra is an environmental economist who uses tools from trade and industrial organization. His research focuses on preserving and valuing environmental services without undercutting economic development, using global- or continent-scale data to inform empirical answers to hard policy tradeoffs. His research has looked at carbon taxes, international environmental agreements, land conservation, and offset market design as tools for sustainable development. Mishra holds degrees in economics and systems engineering from the University of Pennsylvania (BS, BSE, '19; PhD ‘25) and spent a year as the Globalization Postdoctoral Fellow at Dartmouth College.
