Flex-E-Markets

An outgrowth of over ten years of experience with markets experiments is that we have developed software to configure, deploy and manage electronic marketplaces without requiring special computer expertise or special equipment. The software has a dual purpose: (i) facilitating experimentation on markets in the economics and finance academic community, (ii) promoting double-sided markets as a general tool for resource allocation and information aggregation outside the academic world. Defensive Indexing

An outgrowth of our studies on predictability in asset prices in the field (work joint with Pierre Hillion of INSEAD - Singapore, Bruno Biais of Toulouse University, and Chester Spatt of Carnegie Mellong University) is an attempt to introduce ideas from signal processing (such as variable delay) to build practical portfolios that are immune from the winner's curse problem (caused by better-informed traders in the marketplace). These portfolio should prove invaluable for wealth management, and we promote them as a better alternative to pure indexing.
