Required books

   These books are available in the Caltech bookstore.  For each title, the bookstore has a mix of new and used copies.

        English Sixteenth-Century Verse: An Anthology, ed. R. S. Sylvester (Norton)
        Broadview Anthology of Seventeenth-Century Verse and Prose, ed. A. Rudrum et al. (Broadview, 2004)
        Edmund Spenser, The Faerie Queene Book Five, ed. A. Stoll (Hackett, 2006)
        Francis Bacon, The New Atlantis and Advancement of Learning (Kessinger)

   I'd encourage you strongly to buy these at the Caltech bookstore.  It's a useful institution that we would like to keep in business.
   However, if you get your books elsewhere, you need to be sure to get the same editions so that you'll have the same page numbers as everyone else during discussions in class, and so that the page citations in your writing assignments can be checked.
