Evidence for the role of attention to emotion in anhedonia

Abstract: Anhedonia, or decreased positive emotion in response to positive stimuli, is transdiagnostic symptom prevalent in a number of psychiatric and neurological disorders. Interestingly, it is also found in non-clinical populations and actually predicts future onset of some mental illnesses. My more recent work has focused on understanding the phenotypic expression and neural correlates of anhedonia. I will discuss this work and highlight evidence I have found regarding the role of aberrant attention to emotions in anhedonia.
